Over the past three years I have enjoyed dealing with the traffic and road conditions around the Bodrum peninsula and along the Aegean and Mediterranean seas. Going further afield, I find the roads are somewhat improved from the conditions when I lived in Turkey 30 years ago! But traffic is somewhat heavier as well. Drivers are no less impatient, and sometimes do really stupid things.

I would be grateful if someone can tell me the best route to take from Bodrum to Ankara, and would also be glad to discuss driving in Turkey.

Bodrum to Ankara

Take Milas to Yatagan to Mugla to Denizli to Dinar to Afyon to Sivrihisar to Polatli and ANKARA (Best one for you)

Also the other one:
Take Milast to Soke to Ortaklar to Aydin to Denizli to Afyon to Sivrihisar to Polatli and ANkara (Ok)

Good luck
