The first time I visited Side was thirty two years ago! There was only one pansyon and everybody ate out by the harbour! It seems the "Yabangi" have spoilt it a little bit as it seems to have lost its exclusive feel. I remember swimming in the sea and how wonderful it was. at least that has not changed! And the people would not let me spend a penny! They were the most hospitable race on earth at that time and if you are a little adventurous and stray a little inland you will still find these same genuine friendly and honest people. I remember visiting Manavgat waterfalls which were famous for "sweet" fish! there was only a small lokanta then on site compared to todays tourists. I was in Side last year and thank God that the basic scenery has not changed. Try swimming in the sea with some bread in your hand and you will be amazed how many fish come and eat out of your hand! I shall be there again in October of this year for two weeks when I hope to make many more new friends and have more adventures. Not 'Inshallah' but 'Mashallah'! Robert xxx
